33

Tomorrow I turn 33, or complete my 33rd year, however you want to look at it.

So far my 30’s have looked different than I always imagined.

I used to think I would become a mom at 30 but life had other plans and it took 2 more years for that to happen. I used to think I would be making multiple 6 figures by the time I was 30 and in reality my business has, at times, had to take a backseat over these last few years while I prioritized my mental and physical wellbeing. I used to think I would have my dream, ideal body in my 30’s (mostly because so many older women told me that was the case for them) and while I’m not my “ideal” jean size, my body has shown me just how strong, resilient, and powerful it can be.

In many ways I’ve incredibly proud of how these first few years of my 30’s have turned out.

I’m coming into my 8th year in business and I love the direction that things are heading in and actually feel energized and inspired by the plans I have laid out. I work from home alongside my incredible husband and get to spend my mornings slowly: cuddling my baby, enjoying a mug of coffee, and getting lost in a good book. My husband and I get to tag team and take turns playing with our son and getting our work done throughout the day. I’ve gotten to travel to some bucketlist places and spend weeks immersing myself in different cultures. I’ve learned so many new hobbies, most recently knitting, and have prioritized expanding my creative endeavors and I feel so much more enriched by these creative pursuits. All in all, this life has been pretty great to me.

I’m looking forward to this next year of life with excitement and wonder: joyfully waiting to see how our baby changes and grows into a little person over the next 12 months, and anxiously ready to add new creative avenues to my business. Thank you all for being a part of my little journey.

Monthly Intentions

Personal Life

Spend more time with my favorite people

Now that our son is past the two month mark we are finally out in the world and seeing people again. I’m such an introvert that I didn’t think I’d mind being at home with a baby with no where to be for several months but already seeing friends and family again has been so needed.

Finish 75 Soft

I figured doing 75 Hard would be nearly impossible as I recover from birth so instead Mike and I have been doing our version of 75 Soft in order to establish a few healthy habits. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’ve actually liked working out everyday!

Prep more content

The amount of ideas and content I have ready to post that I never pull the trigger on is embarrassing. Raise your hand if you love creating and then never get around to actually showing any of it off!

Launch our new site

As a way of easing back into the creative mindset I’ve been working on a new look for the SHS website. Hoping to launch it soon if I can just get it finished while baby is napping.

This year we are going minimal on our free backgrounds to give your screens a much needed refresh and brightness for 2024. Just sign up to our newsletter receive your free download!
